For over ten years Total Chaos have proven this statement true, and have helped expand a genre that has outlasted numerous musical trends, gimmicks and novelties. Soon after their incarnation they released their first independent record, with the initial pressing selling out immediately thanks to the legion of rabid fans they had amassed in the underground punk scenes throughout the world. One such "fan" was Epitaph Records owner Brett Gurewitz, who signed the band to his then fledgling Indy label. During their stay at Epitaph, Total Chaos sold over 200,000 records, all by touring the world and word-of-mouth only. It seemed that Epitaph didn't have the same vision as the band, so they left in 1998 and soon after released 2 limited edition CD's on Cleopatra Records.

The year 2000 saw many changes for the band, including their first tour of Japan, (which they again conquered in 2002) and taking control of their recording career. Keeping to their D.I.Y. ethic, the band decided to do the "Punk Invasion" CD on their own, with multi-platinum producer Jim Faraci at the helm. The end result was over 20 songs combining the raw aggression of their earlier work such as "Patriotic Shock" with the melodic bombast of "Anthems From The Alleyway". Dedicated to true punks, the CD cover and inside panels are covered with photos of their fans and friends from around the world.

Being a band that believes in making things happen, not waiting for things to happen, "Punk Invasion" was released on the band-owned Indy label Reject Records, which has allowed them to keep the price low and stay in direct contact with their most valuable asset... their fans. Thanks to the Internet, Reject Records and Total Chaos have escaped the usual corporate "music industry" bullshit and contacted their fans directly, forming an army of 'Street Teams' that are promoting the new CD with a force that would make the worlds mightiest militaries cower in comparison.

June 2002 will see the release of much requested "D.U.I." as the first US single/video from "Punk Invasion". The acoustic-punk autobiographical tale (of a crazy night out gone wrong!) seems to strike a familiar chord with legions of fans of all ages and musical tastes. Total Chaos on TRL? It's only a matter of time...

2 more steps towards global domination will take place in July and August as 'Chaos wreak havoc across Europe (including the Holidays In The Sun Festival) then return to the US to spread absolute destruction on the Vans Warped Tour. Always the underdogs, TC feel blessed by the opportunity to do Warped, and plan to take full advantage of the situation by putting together a live show that will absolutely blow every other band off the stage!

After Warped it's back to NJ for the US 'Holidays show, then possibly beginning what will undoubtedly be the most infamous and influential punk tour since the 'Pistols in 77'. TC and a monstrous mystery headliner that will be on their first (and last) US tour in over a decade....
